Franklin, Mr.

Little more is known of Franklin who passed through Fort Victoria in December 1849 and, accompanied by Sir Edward Poore, James Douglas and Eden Colvile, visited Captain Walter C. Grant's farm at Sooke before returning to Fort Vancouver early in 1850. While Finlayson wrote that Poore and Franklin were "on their travels", Colvile commented that they were "harmless creatures & take life easily – giving no trouble."
