Captain Duncan
Born in Falkirk, Scotland, Captain Duncan joined the Hudson's Bay Company in 1824. Most of
his time was spent en route between London and the Columbia, but his course also included
Moose Factory. His wife Ann Simpson remained in Scotland, enduring long spans of time
without her husband, but managing to conceive and give birth to one daugther in 1837 and
another in 1839. In 1849, the family immigrated to the United States.
