Lewis, (Lewes) John Lee (1792-1872)

Lewes was prominent in the ranks of Hudson's Bay Company servants posted throughout Rupert's Land but was never stationed at Fort Victoria. It is not clear that the reference in the journal to 'Lewis' on January 2, 1849 is to 'John Lee Lewes'.
